Foreign Trade Law
In addition to the relevant laws of the European community, the national legal basis for foreign trade can be found in the German Foreign Trade Law [AWG] and the German Foreign Trade Ordinance [AWV].
These regulate the powers of customs authorities and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control [BAFA]. The latter is based in Eschborn and responsible for issuing export licenses nationwide.
We advise and represent you comprehensively:
with the applications for all required licenses, permits and authorisations
with the foreign trade law compliance audit
in the defence against penalties and monetary fines
in the legal export control review of contracts, particularly in the light of existing embargoes/partial embargoes against certain developing countries
when applying for export licenses, Nullbescheiden and information on the list of restricted goods to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control [BAFA]
in the lodging of appeals against the restricting measures put forward by customs authorities and the BAFA
